Looking for an article? The support content starts with HowToMindYourOwnBusiness
The MYOB User's Wiki is now open for use. To edit pages, you must be registered (see the login box, should be on the upper right) and logged in. When you register, an email will be sent to you with a URL to use to complete registration Registered users will be considered members of the MYOB Users Free Association, until and unless the Association provides an alternate membership process. The "excellent mailing list" mentioned below is the SmartGroups list, and it has been having serious problems of late, plus it is moderated anonymously (unless anyone can figure out who "Michael H Spack" is), so a page has been created for information about the problems and about moving the list to a better server. This wiki has Forum and email capabilities, but a user forum, I (Abd) believe, should not be dependent on technical support and facilities of small providers, so a yahoogroups list has been started. For information see the wiki page, SmartGroups. PROPOSAL: if you have employees using MYOB, it might be useful to have an on-line MYOB help resource, with FAQs and how-to articles. Some of what you would want on that would be unique to your company, your particular procedures, etc. But much would be generic. And that is what this wiki could become, a shared help resource for MYOB users. We have an excellent mailing list for questions and answers, but no user-generated "manual." One of the most important early uses for wikis was for tech support, where every user can find information and, as convenient, correct the information or expand it. The whole point of wiki design was to make it very easy for an average user, even a beginner, to find and edit material. ("Wiki" means something like "quick and easy" in Hawaiian.) So let's start! I (Abd) suggest leaving this page, the page you are reading, alone for a while (but feel free to correct errors, or to comment using the comment tab above); instead, we can start building the support wiki itself on the page HowToMindYourOwnBusiness When you are editing, the Wiki quick help tab — at the top — will show some hints about the syntax for pages, it appears at the bottom of your edit screen.. One quick hint: A WikiWord consists of joined capitalized words. When this is saved in a wiki page, if the page with the name of the WikiWord does not exist, a question mark will appear after the WikiWord, which is a link to the new page named WikiWord. Clicking on the link will open an editor for the new page. Once it exists (sometimes after a short delay), the question mark will be gone and the WikiWord will function as a link to the new page. There is a whole world of wikis out there, see http://wikipedia.org for a sophisticated example. You can use the SandBox to see how editing functions.... Recently MYOB has updated their support policies, and their forums are now open to all MYOB users as well. As that site had a link to here, it is only right that this site points there. http://myobforum.infopop.cc/groupee Created by: system last modification: Wednesday 04 of April, 2007 [15:43:31 UTC] by admin |
